Ohhh my gossshhhh, this set has taken FOREVER to finish! I think that counters are possibly the WORST item to make for this game! Let me rant for a moment:
Having never made counters before, I figured it would be a bit of a challenge, but I would be able to muddle through on my own. WRONG. Everything went wrong– the drawer version of the counter refused to be recolorable, sinks would clip the countertop, shadows would decide to disappear or not show up at all, everything.
After exhausting every solution I could think of, I gave up and stopped working on it for a bit. Then, I had the bright idea to search MTS2 for help (grumble should have done this first grumble…), and found out that mod-god Numenor had made counter templates because EVERYONE else had come to the same conclusion that I had: modding counters is hellish. Hellish, I say!
BUT EVEN THEN, I had designed the counters to animate with the skeleton of the counter I had originally cloned from, and the templates used a completely different counter, so I had to redo aaaaalll that work. Ugh.
Alright, phew. Aaaanyway, that’s why this set took 40000 years to be completed. But I think it was worth it! It really turned out well, and now I won’t have such trouble the next time I make a kitchen set. 
Now, onto the guts of it: This set is huuuuge. I made counters, tables, end tables, side tables, shelves, cabinets, decorative items– bunches and bunches of stuff. Also, the items in this set are heavily linked to each other– they share a lot of textures (less space taken up, huzzah!), so be extra careful to keep the repository items (marked with a * at the download page) in your game. 
Aaaand, I’ve given everything plenty of extra slots so that you have lots of places to put clutter on!

I have one question: I noticed in game that the chair doesn’t have any recolours, like the rest does. Is it recolourable?

@ Eva: Errr, um, most likely not. The chair gets textures from the metal of the end table (where the rest of the set does, too), and that’s not recolorable (because the metal that’s on the counters would not be recolorable– TS2 only allows 2 object subsets to be recolored). I will see if there’s a solution later today.

I’ve been checking your site everyday since you posted that preview. I’m so glad you finished it and so very very glad for all the extra items! You are my favorite objects creator and I just can’t get enough of your stuff.
Wow! This is everything I’d hoped for – those counters were so worth all that work and effort, and I thank you so much for persevering despite the hellish process, because they are my absolutely favourite part of the entire set. The red one is especially beautiful. I think I’ve got just the appliances to go with all of that, too, so once this is in my folder I’m loading up my game and making a pretty red kitchen!
Also, typically I’ve chosen one thing to focus on… I love the corner counters, I really do.

I’ve been playing with Sims 3, but I keep falling back to Sims 2 just because of your beautiful creations… nothing equals it.
Side note : The detail on the front edge of these countertops… wow ! Just bloody wow !

Mm couldn’t you just separate the chair from the repository system then? I know that it would increase the filesize, but if it had its own texture, at least we could recolour it separately. I think they’d look lovely with the other colours in your set, and maybe some neons. I’d love to be able to recolour them.

@ Eva: Yeah– I know that that would work. I made it this way because the metal of the counters isn’t recolorable (anything can only have 2 recolorable subsets), and I thought it would be strange to have only some of the metal of the set recolorable, and not the rest. But anyway– I’m going to edit the things that currently are only using one recolorable subset so that people can recolor the metal if they’d like to, too.

First I just want to say how much I love all your creations. You are a very talented artist and your paintings are some of my favorite items. Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful art.
I did want to let you know that I had an issue with the candles on this set. I didn’t see a listing of EP’s needed for the set so it may simply be that I don’t have one of them. When I loaded the whole set my game crashed when I attempted to go into the light category in buy mode.
I removed just the candles from the set and it worked fine. I do not have OFB, AL or FT and that may be he issue but I thought you might like to know just in case.

@ Clashfan: Oofph, people always seem to have issues with the lighting from my sets– some people experienced crashing with the Super Chouette set lamp, too. I’m completely at a loss as to why the lights would cause a crash, because they’re cloned in the exact, same way that the other items are cloned.
Has anyone else experienced this crashing? Sorry I can’t be more helpful, Clashfan.
Only other problem I’ve had with your lights is the candle from your bathroom set. All your lamps have worked fine for me so it just seems to be the candles that I can’t use. The set is still fantastic and I’m very happy to have all the rest of the parts that do work. Thank you again for all your wonderful work!
